If the Rock Quarry is allowed to happen, this is what we can expect in our community. With the support of our elected commissioners, the rezoning of this property can be defeated. Unfortunately, some of the County Commissioners are in support of rezoning the land use from Residential (R-2) to Heavy Industrial (I-2). Please contact all Paulding County Commissioners to express your opposition to the development of the Rock Quarry on Highway 101 at the Paulding - Carroll County line.
All the dust from the blast will go airborne and it will encompass our community. From which health issues will occur.
Our elected officials should want to protect our community from this type of destruction. Please contact your County Commissioners and ask for their support in stopping the proposed Rock Quarry on Highway 101 in Paulding County, Georgia.
Blasting at a rock quarry creates invisible dust particles that are known to cause health issues such as silicosis, a progressive lung disease. It has been scientifically proven that long-term exposure to particulate matter can also lead to heart disease, stroke, infertility, and pregnancy complications.
When people breathe silica dust, they inhale tiny particles of the mineral silica. Over time, the silica dust particles can cause lung inflammation that leads to the formation of lung nodules and scarring in the lungs called pulmonary fibrosis. Over time, lung capacity decreases, and people with silicosis particularly those with Progressive Massive Fibrosis may need support with oxygen and other devices to help them breathe.
Please make sure that our County Commissioners in Paulding, Georgia, are fully aware that we do not want a Rock Quarry in our community that will lead to silicosis, heart disease, stroke, infertility, and pregnancy complications.
Rock quarry blasting can have a significant impact on nearby properties, causing various forms of property damage. The intense vibrations and shockwaves produced by the blasting can shake the foundation of homes or outbuildings, leading to structural damage. Furthermore, the force of the blast can cause cracks in walls, ceilings, and windows, compromising their stability and safety. Powerful explosions can also affect the alignment of doors and windows, making them difficult to open or close properly. Additionally, the blast can cause damage to pools, such as cracks or leaks, which can be costly to repair. The force of the blast can also result in cracks in drywall and plaster, leading to costly repairs. Overall, rock quarry blasting can have a significant and wide-reaching impact on properties in its vicinity, causing damage that will require costly repairs to restore the safety and integrity of these structures.
